Name – Sandra
Where are you from? Originally Arkansas. I’ve been in Colorado now for over 20 years.
What makes you want to volunteer at the Ranch? My horse was such a blessing as a child growing up. I know firsthand how they can bring healing and comfort to your life. It’s such a blessing to be a part of bringing this experience to others.
What’s your coolest experience? Climbing to the top of fourteeners. I learned many life lessons from the journeys and standing at the top of the mountain and viewing Gods Greatness in his creations.
What would you like to do but haven’t yet? Travel to other countries with a ministry
Favorite movie? I don’t have just one. But I love the Horse Whisperer. It’s a really powerful story about the recovery process of a girl and her horse after they both suffered a tragic accident.
What’s the most amazing thing to you about God? How He transforms your life once you surrender it to Him.
What gets you out of bed in the morning? A diet pepsi and knowing I have something important to do today.
Favorite horse experience? Playing with my horse as a child. I used to “lock” myself in the tack room and cry out to him for help and he would always come and “rescue” me by opening the tack door room with his nose! I would ask him if he loves me and he would shake his head yes!
Do you prefer salty or sweet, and why? Sweet! I think I was born with a sweet tooth! I crave cookies, cake, ice cream, anything sweet! It’s an addiction that puts on the pounds so I try to avoid keeping these things in the house. If I REALLY want it, it has to be worth getting in the car and driving somewhere to get it. If it’s in the house, it won’t last long…I have very little will power when it comes to sweets. Don’t ask me to share!
What do you do when you see a mud puddle? Jump over it, go around or splatter right through it…sometimes I feel playful and enjoy getting muddy…sometimes I feel energetic and just feel like jumping…sometimes I’d rather just avoid it. Depends on the day!
If you could hear God speak 25 words to you, what would they be? Hmmmm, only 25 words??? But there is so much I want to hear! But if I am limited to only 25…I think that the thing I need to be reminded of most is: “I am always with you. Lean on me. I will bring you peace. I will encourage you. I will give you strength. I Love you”. And if I could have just have a few more… “Your departed loved ones are with me. I hold a place for you.”
