Willow was not actually a part of The Son and Reins Ranch’s herd, but still he has managed to touch us and bless us! Thank you, Mia and Willow! God bless you for your legacy, Willow, and for your testimony, Mia! Here’s Willow’s tribute:
With life being so short it is awesome when God blesses our lives with His creation. Such was the life of Willow the horse and Mia the owner. It was hard to let Willow go but knowing he rests in the arms of God brings comfort to our hearts. Jeremiah 29:11 says God has plans to prosper us, give us hope and a future.
In the case of Willow and Mia they experienced all these together. Mia in her younger days had a bad experience with another horse. As a result, she had a fear of being around and on Willow. She desired to have a trusting and lasting relationship with him so she could ride without fear. For over two years she took lessons and worked hard to show Willow that she was his and he was hers.
Little by little each helped each other and the round pen gave way to the trail. She was able to take Willow on a solo ride and all was good. Of course, there was still much to learn and teach so neither gave up. Willow especially liked the end of the trail rides as carrots rained from heaven. Why even the rain water crossing the road became nothing to cross and Mia handled it with confidence and enjoyment.
With great pleasure Willow gives a token of money to The Son and Reins Ranch, not for carrots to feed the herd, but for perhaps another little girl who fears her mighty stead and will receive the chance to ride in trust. Rest in peace Willow and thanks for so many memories.
