STATEMENT OF FAITH

We invite, welcome and embrace people from all backgrounds, struggles and beliefs… all will be loved when they come to our Ranch!

The Son and Reins Ranch is a Christian based ministry, and all our direct volunteers, staff and board members must affirm our Statement of Faith and exclusive claims of allegiance that Jesus Christ makes upon everyone who would follow Him as Christians. With that understanding, they agree with and adhere to the Statement of Faith as one of The Son and Reins Ranch leaders, entrusted to advance our mission.

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one Sovereign God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe Jesus Christ is both our Lord* and our Savior*, and the only way to God the Father. We believe His death on the cross paid for our sins, His resurrection conquered and defeated death, His ascension took Him to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return will be in power and glory.
4. We believe what the Scripture says that we are saved strictly by the grace of God, not by our own merit, and that He who began a good work in you will complete it in the day of Christ Jesus.
5. We believe in the present ministry, constant presence and transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
6. We believe in the transformational love of Jesus. A genuine love that walks in humility, with eyes open to others’ needs, not out of obligation but from grace’s surplus. His love that is full of acceptance, creating a safe harbor for the broken.

   Henri Nouwen frames this idea masterfully, “Love is the ability to create a space where the other can be free… a safe harbor where the broken are not judged but welcomed. To love is to offer a hospitality of the soul, where we look at the other not to see what we can get from them, but to see what they need from us. This is the humility of the heart that recognizes we are all in need of grace.”

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ, that we are to function as the Body of Christ and be known by our love.
8. We believe in viewing all things through a biblical lens. This is a bipartisan facility, believing Jesus is not left or right, red or blue. Our allegiance and alliance are to JESUS alone.
9. We believe in the power and grace of God to care for and use all His creatures (including horses) to bring about His good, perfect and holy will. He chooses to use broken vessels… He loves us not because of who we are but because of who He is… We are not perfect, but He is!
10. We believe God has given each of His children spiritual gifts to be used for His glory, and none is more important or special than the other. It is an incredible privilege to be involved in God’s work, to have an eternal purpose and to be chosen to glorify Him with our lives.
11. We believe God is more concerned with our obedience and character than He is with our comfort, and in challenging each other out of our comfort zones, for the sake of the Gospel, God is glorified. We love, care for and spur each other on in Christ.

*As Lord, Jesus is in control of our lives.
*As Savior, Jesus has rescued and redeemed us from darkness to light, from
death to life.
